Wild Food Foraging Course

We'll start the day with a coffee or tea before heading off (in own cars).
We'll begin by exploring the hedgerow and fields, finding a variety of wild plants & herbs and talk
about how we can cook and use this wonderful bounty. We'll have a snack of some pastries then we'll head to the seashore. As we walk along Chesil Beach, Mat will show you how to identify edible plants with confidence. We might find shells, sharks purse, a variety of edible seaweeds and seashore plants.
Your course will end with a delicious lunch, prepared by the team at the Cafe, inspired by beautiful seasonal produce. We are happy to cater for vegan, gluten free and most dietary requests, please let us know when you book.
Our courses run from March to September each year. During the winter months there is very little to find, so we don't run courses during the October to February period.
We do also offer this course with a Gin tasting and talk at the end of the course, you will be given a sample of Bramble Gin or Vinegar to take away, details are here.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Covid-19 update - we will not be recommending car sharing this year and cannot provide transport so own cars only please. Your lunch tables will be spaced and you may have to eat outside to accomodate spacing rules.
Please wear sturdy shoes or wellies.
This course is only really suitable for children of 12yrs of age and upwards. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Each excursion is dependent on what's in season, what wild foods are available and, of course, the weather ... the course will take place whatever the weather.
There may be some slippery paths and mud so please consider this if you are in doubt about your ability.
The drive to locations will be no more than 30 miles over the course of the day.
Refunds will only be given if you cancel your booking more than seven days prior to the course date. If your booking is through a third party then their cancellation terms apply.
We are as understanding as possible and will always try to work with you to get you on another course should something happen.
It is rare that we do have to but we will give you as much notice as possible should it become necessary to move a course, we recommend you have travel insurance to cover any costs.
