Mure liqueurs
Mat won the TV series BBC MasterChef in 2009, then opened his first restaurant, The Wild Garlic, to considerable national acclaim. The Wild Garlic was awarded 2 AA Rosettes and was recommended in The Good Food Guide and The Michelin guide. In 2016, Mat opened Bramble Cafe in Poundbury, Dorset, followed by Bramble Restaurant in Sherborne, Dorset.

Mat is now focused on making some of the best liqueurs and spirits available from his distillery in Dorchester Dorset as well as running foraging days which end at the distillery.

Mat regularly runs Foraging courses and makes a range of liqueurs Mure liqueurs. 
In 2024 Mat's 'Properly Bitter Lemon' liqueur was awarded the highest rating, with a score of 98/100, for any lemon liqueur in the world by the international Wines and Spirits Competition.

Mat has had three books published, Fish, Vegetables and Afternoon Tea (Waitrose Weekend's Best Baking Book of 2018). 

Mat often judges food competitions and events and is a regular judge for BBC MasterChef and The Great Taste Awards. He is also a volunteer for the National Trust and is their Community Lead Forager - North & West Dorset.
